Our goal is to provide referring physicians with excellent service in all aspects of diagnosis and management of their urologic patients.
Here are some of the highlights:
- We have streamlined several areas in the process of referral to simplify the tasks required by you or your office staff and reduce the time needed to make a referral.
- As fellowship trained uro-oncologists, our doctors bring expertise in urologic cancer surgery including laparoscopic surgery broadening our scope of practice to include virtually all urologic diagnoses.
- We have introduced the "prostate assessment clinic" to provide a more comprehensive approach to diagnoses and treatment of prostate conditions including: prostate cancer screening, lower urinary tract symptoms, increased PSA, prostate nodule etc.
- We have significantly improved our feedback documentation by utilizing latest technology to produce our consultation reports. This eliminates lag time and you will receive reports in almost all cases within two or three days of patient visit.
- We launched this web site for the benefit of our patients to provide them with additional information about their conditions. This site will be continually upgraded with additional topics as time permits.
How to make a referral
Emergency referrals: If you feel a patient must be seen within 48 hours, call the office directly and your patient can be given an urgent appointment.
For other patients, our dedicated referral fax line (586) 773-6266 (available 24/7) is often the easiest method. We need the following information:
- patient demographics including insurance number
- referral diagnosis, specific concerns you have
- relevant information from tests such as PSA result (even if normal) ultrasound etc..
- referring physician name, address, fax number, to receive report
We run our practice on a cooperative basis. New patient initial consultation can be done by either urologist and subsequent management can be transferred internally based on expertise, appointment availability etc. If you have a specific preference as to the urologist you want to see your patient on the first visit, please indicate. Otherwise, patients will be scheduled on the first available appointment date to reduce waiting times.
